Myrtle Clark Outstanding Mathematics Educator Award

About the Award

A former student established the Myrtle Clark Award to honor Miss Myrtle Clark, a former mathematics teacher at Lincoln Northeast High School and Jackson High School. The award is given to recognize excellence in mathematics teaching and provide a source of funding for LPS mathematics educators for summer school courses to advance teaching skills or for the pursuit of attending a professional development conference or opportunity.

Applying for the Award

Award Amount: $1,200

Criteria: This award is available to Lincoln Public Schools Mathematics Educators.

  • Mathematics educator for Lincoln Public Schools
  • Commitment to excellence in mathematics teaching
  • Interest in pursuing summer school courses to advance teaching skills or an advanced degree in mathematics or attendance at a professional development conference

Nominating Process: Nominations may be submitted by any individual or group. Self-nominations are accepted.

Selection Process: The Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools Awards Committee will facilitate the selection committee, with input from the LPS Curriculum Specialist for Mathematics.
